There was a vision to bring joy the people
To bring laughter and fun to those in need
Some lattice in a tube was showing black and white
When one day there came the color to the screen

Once the technology was ripe
The news stations that were already taken over
Used the color and tone for their purpose
To shape the minds to strengthen their own point of views

But there is more
There is a patent dating back some twenty years
It's for the manipulation of the nervous system
By electromagnetic fields from monitor screens

It's not the technology that scares me
It is the people that spend their time to search for more ways
To manipulate and influence our mind
Without us being able to resist

This tech may never have found application
But there is so much more we do not know about it

There is addiction from doom scrolling
There is dopamine controlled by the feed
There are engagement based metrics for the platforms
And KPIs that are hard to ignore

All is meant for you just to keep you happy
Keep you aligned with the establishment
Keep diverted and stay calm
There is nothing to see here

Keep watching the endless streams
Keep enjoying the endless dreams
There is fun to have it's easy for you to grab
Just enjoy the screen in front of your face

No manipulation happening
Nobody using tricks on your mind
They keep you safe from double think
They keep you engaged by the meaningless things
